What is a personal piece of advice (business advice/saying/quote) that you lean on and could pass on to others?
One personal piece of advice I would pass on to others is to let go. Early on, I stressed over and sweated on every detail, holding back my employees from being successful and capping our growth. By learning to let go and not sweat every little detail, my business has been able to grow significantly. It's still hard for me to do this, but I have to remind myself on a regular basis that I can't do it all. And the truth is, my team can do it better in many ways now.

Best business book you’ve ever read?
There are many so I'll choose a recent book that I enjoyed - CEO Next Door. Great insight for me as I'm trying to learn to be a CEO versus an entrepreneur. After reading the book, I've refined that goal to learning how to be an entrepreneurial CEO.

One misstep you took in your business that you could caution others about?
For me, it was having partners. It's nice knowing someone will be with you on the journey, but in reality, I found it very hard to navigate a partnership. I compare it to sports: oftentimes you play to the level of your competitor rather than your true potential. I didn't play to my highest potential in a partnership, only after separating and having the full responsibility on my shoulders was I able to do so.

How do you de-stress after a particularly hard day?
I enjoy a fast drive on back roads or time on the water at Tims Ford Lake.

What are you most looking forward to this year?
Croatia trip with some fellow EO members!

What’s something about you that would surprise everyone reading this?
Who knows! Maybe that I won a contest in elementary school with Junior Achievement, they chose my artwork for the Christmas card. It wasn't good...

What EO benefit has been most valuable to you?
I'll pick two - Forum is absolutely valuable to me, making the membership worth it every year. I love my forum. Second, the network that spreads worldwide. I've had some unimaginable experiences thanks to MyEO and the global network.
