Free Staycation + Dinner!

How does a FREE staycation for your forum with one night at the brand new Virgin Hotel + dinner on us sound? (You’d have until 12/1/21 to use it.)

Did you know our Strategic Alliance Partners bring in almost as much revenue as your member dues?

Can you imagine what we would have done without the expertise of our partners during the past year?

Don’t you want to support those who support YOU?

We are asking every forum to host at least 4 SAPs per year. This is a tricky year, and we want to make sure they feel this partnership is valuable enough to continue for years to come.

All forums that have had at least 4 SAPs visit them between July 1, 2020 – June 1, 2021 will get their forum # in a hat for a chance to win the prize mentioned above… rooms at The Virgin Ho + dinner for your forum.

CLICK HERE to let us know how many you’ve had so far, and who else you’d like to host. We’re happy to help connect you if you’d like.

CLICK HERE to view a list of some of the topics they’d be happy to discuss with you. Also understand they’re perfectly happy to customize a topic to the specific needs of your forum. We always recommend you chat with them ahead of time to let them know what you need during their visit.

To qualify, you must have had all 4 SAPs visit prior to June 1, 2021, and the visits should have been a minimum of 20 minutes each. We will follow-up in May to ask you to complete a final form indicating who you’ve hosted and you must complete that form to qualify.

What is a personal piece of advice (business advice/saying/quote) that you lean on and could pass on to others?

Revenue is Vanity.
Profit is Sanity.
Cash is KING.

Many entrepreneurs start out in the corporate world first and do not learn the importance of this quote. Too often larger companies only try and grow the topline to wow Wall Street. At the end of the day, having a larger business does not equate to personal happiness and it certainly doesn't translate into financial success. This quote always helps ground me as an entrepreneur to focus on the bottom line and not the ego around tough business decisions I need to make.

Best business book you’ve ever read?

The Ultimate Sales Machine
Author: Chet Holmes

One misstep you took in your business that you could caution others about?

I was born and raised in a relatively small town in Illinois. Growing up in the midwest, the core values I learned were trust, honesty and living by "The Golden Rule." Starting out in entrepreneurship, I had to learn the hard way that not everyone is honest and trust must be earned. Money stolen, shady business deals, I've unfortunately been through it all and weathered the storm. The major lesson I've learned is you must, "trust yet verify," but you also need to surround yourself with the right team of advisors. From legal to accounting and investing, advisors are crucial to protecting you from bad deals. Early in my career I would cheap out on advice, boy was that a bad decision. Present day I still rely heavily on my gut when looking at new opportunities, but I never let the shiny toy persuade my decision. I take it all in and then pass the information for my trusted group of advisors to "verify."

How do you de-stress after a particularly hard day?

I'm a big acronym guy and I call my de-stress routine "M squared." This stands for "Music and Meditation." When I'm not feeling whole I resort to these two areas to escape and get grounded in what's really important. I'm self taught in meditation through a few different apps I like, but super passionate about meditation for de-stressing nonetheless.

Have you come up with any creative social activities in 2020 that you would like to share?

"Walk and Talks." My commercial property I own and operate our Agency out of in SoFlo has a large circle bordering the building. Throughout covid I would invite staff, clients, prospects and EOers to walk around the building with me. Some people looked at me with two heads when I invited them to go on a walk with me, but once they got to our office I think they really enjoyed the experience, I sure know I did.  Here in TN there are many walking trails near my home in Brentwood in which I've already restarted my walk and talk tradition.

What’s something about you that would surprise everyone reading this?

I proposed to my wife on the centercourt of an NBA basketball game. If you're interested in seeing that video you can catch it here.

What EO benefit has been most valuable to you during these uncertain times?

My forum experience has been most valuable to me. The comradery of being there for one another during the ups and downs has been amazing. Now that I'm a new member here in Nashville, I'm very excited to find my home in a new forum to create new bonds and friendships.
