Ivan Ospina
Qubits Energy

Ivan Ospina is an entrepreneur, engineer and energy management systems expert with over 25 years of experience leading technology teams for digital transformation of energy management and automation companies.
His passion for research and development in software for industrial and building automation and controls, put him on the radar of multi-national companies in the industry. 

Ivan’s career has been tied to innovation at companies that are leaders in digital transformation, energy digitization and IoT. In 2017, Ivan co-founded Qubits Energy based out of the greater Nashville area, they are leaders in the energy management industry for Web giants, data centers, commercial buildings and critical power facilities throughout the US, and with an international footprint as well.

Nashville is his hometown where he lives with his wife Anais and his 3 children.

What is a personal piece of advice (business advice/saying/quote) that you lean on and could pass on to others?
“The ability to accurately foresee and predict the consequences of your decisions and actions is the true measure of intelligence. Always gather more information and think again.”

One misstep you took in your business that you could caution others about?
Starting and running a business without a clear business plan.

How do you de-stress after a particularly hard day?
Call someone you love and mention two things you are grateful for.

Did you come up with any creative social activities over the last year that you would like to share? 
Nothing impressive: knead clay, draw on it with a pencil, cut and dry to later paint art while sharing a good wine using a video conference call tool.

What’s something about you that would surprise everyone reading this?
Picking coffee as a kid in the mountains of Colombia was actually one of my first entrepreneurial experiences.

What upcoming EO event are you most looking forward to?
To become part of a forum and grow as a leader.
